About Guidex

A compliance workbench for UK fire engineering — built so every answer can be checked against the guidance it came from.

What it is

An AI built for fire engineering

Guidex is an AI workbench for UK fire engineering. It reads the guidance you already work to, such as Approved Document B, and answers from the text in front of it, cited to the exact clause, table or figure.

Ask a question and the answer comes back cited to your building. Guidex works from your project parameters, so the clauses you get are the ones that actually apply. Upload your plans and it reads those too, reviewing the design against the guidance. It holds your project context, so you can return to a job weeks later, or answer a client's technical query, without hours getting back up to speed.

Guidex helps you draft too. A fire strategy or a Fire Risk Appraisal of External Walls (FRAEW) reaches a first draft in thirty minutes rather than hours.

Why we built it

Guidex does not sign off your building. You do.

Fire engineering is a discipline where being roughly right is worse than useless. A clause either applies or it does not. A travel distance either works or it does not. And when a building is questioned years later, it is an engineer's name on the report, not a piece of software.

That is why Guidex is built the way it is. It does not reach for the open web. It does not answer from memory. It does not offer an opinion it cannot point to in the guidance. Every answer arrives with the clause attached, because in this discipline the only answer worth having is one you can check and stand behind.

We are not trying to replace your judgment. We are trying to give back the hours that were never judgment in the first place: the searching, the cross-referencing, the remembering where you got to on a job you last opened six weeks ago. That time belongs on the design.

See it on your own project

The quickest way to judge Guidex is to point it at a building you already know and check its answers against your own.
